Who Am I

DeMarcus Burke is a medical student and writer from Mobile, Alabama. His writing has appeared in Rattle, where he was a Poetry Prize Finalist and Readers’ Choice Award winner, as well as in The Intima and Auxocardia. He earned a BA in Philosophy from Morehouse College and is currently a medical student at the University of Michigan. His work moves between clinical and personal narratives, often shaped by family, memory, and the quiet inheritances that persist across generations.
